Discover the story, experience, and aspirations behind Movie Review Cavalcade.
Hello! I'm Nandhish Nuchina, the creator of the Movie Review Cavalcade. I’m passionate about analyzing films and exploring the cultural, artistic, existential, economic, topical, and scientific themes they evoke. Through this platform, I strive to present thoughtful critiques that go beyond simple ratings.
I grew up in the state of Connecticut in the United States. I have lived variously all over Connecticut, in Washington D.C., New York, England, and India.
My educational background includes a B.S. double major in Statistics and Economics from George Washington University. A B.S. degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology
with a Minor in Chemistry from the University of Connecticut, and a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from New York University School of Law.
Additionally, I have variously studied at the University level (if only briefly) Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Film at
Central Connecticut State University, The University of Hertfordshire, and Tunxis College respectively.
In July of 2025 I passed the Connecticut Bar Examination after taking the exam for the first time with a score of 321.
I am a first generation American who got extremely lucky. Growing up I had a real passion for basketball. The Internet allowed me to share this interest with others. At 17 years old, with a 56k modem (look those up if you don't know what they are) and using the free Windows Movie Maker software that came with an almost 10 year old computer, I went viral on the Internet when I created a video
of a French professional basketball player, a professional slam dunker named Kadour Ziani. The original video was posted on an obscure French basketball message board called BasketSession.fr. This was months before the official launch of YouTube and the video compiled tens of millions of views on now forgotten sites like ebaumsworld, milkandcookies, and break.com along with about 10 million more views when the video did eventually land on YouTube.
Over the next few years, videos I released onto the Internet went viral several more times. It was a heady and funny time looking back on all of it. I was just a college kid making videos in my spare time, doing it for the passion, and many times I didn't realize the videos I made had started getting a lot of views and were being posted on different websites until friends saw them and pointed it out to me. Some of the videos that went viral featured basketball players such as Vince Carter, Dominique Wilkins, Spud Webb, Larry Nance, James White, David Lee, the Canadian pro basketball player Henry Bekkering, David Thacker of Flying101, Yann De Blaine of Dunkalicious, legendary streetball player Hook Mitchell, and professional dunkers from Slam Nation, Flying101, and Team Flight Brothers.
Through the burgeoning basketball fan community that was sprouting up on the Internet and specifically the website MixMakers.Net, I met other basketball video editing enthusiasts, many who soon became great friends. This led me to work with some of the most world-renowned basketball digital media start-ups of the mid 2000s including Hoopmixtape, BallIsLife, Team Flight Brothers, and Flying101. I am incredibly grateful to have been a part of this unbelievable and once-in-a-lifetime movement that energized millions of basketball fans across the globe and over the years has led to a sustained fan community as well as a new generation of Internet basketball creator content which continues to flourish and grow across the Internet today.
At the same time that I was working in the basketball digital media space I was going to college and eventually law school. After I graduated law school I continued to work with companies like Hoopmixtape and I eventually transitioned my skills managing these digital media businesses to working as a Project Manager for aerospace companies. But I had an urge to go back to school to learn and substantively comprehend fields of knowledge I had grown excited and passionate about, as well as to challenge myself. This led me to go back to school at first to study computer science, then robotics and artificial intelligence, and finally molecular biology and chemistry. I had an amazing time learning about all of these subjects, esecially molecular biology and chemistry. Oh, and along the way I created this email movie review newsletter too, which has been a truly great and transformative experience!
Last but not least, after graduating from the University of Connecticut with a newly minted Molecular Biology B.S. degree and a minor in Chemistry I decided to finally take the Bar Exam, because I did graduate from law school and I wanted to complete that journey. So immediately after graduating from UCONN I started studying for the bar and I am proud to say the first Bar Exam I ever took was the Connecticut Bar Exam in July of 2025, 13 years after I first graduated from law school, and I passed with a score of 321, which is somewhere between the 95th and 98th percentile, which I find just amazing!
My goal is to transition to working within the Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs field. I think RA is a great fit for my biology and chemistry background as well as my legal and project management background. I truly would enjoy a job where I can interface with science on a daily basis and keep my bio and chem skills sharp. I truly believe the RA profession is an excellent match for my background, skill sets, and interests and I look forward to working in RA very soon!
I am interested in and passionate about many subjects including economics, law, statistics, artificial intelligence, biology, and chemistry, among many other subjects. I've created an on-going list of scientific articles, books, and legal decisions I have read to share my intellectual curiosity with others as well as display my commitment to ongoing self-education and dedication to continual learning about the amazing world that is all around us.
